Output quality

The spreadsheet is laid out by the same engine that opens it, then written to PDF as vector content — text stays selectable and searchable, cell borders and chart lines stay crisp at any zoom, and nothing is rasterised. Number formatting, conditional formatting colours, merged cells, frozen header rows set to repeat, and the print area all carry across, because they are properties of the document rather than of Excel itself. The trade-off worth knowing: pagination is decided by the page setup stored in the file, so a wide sheet with no scaling will split across pages exactly as it would if you pressed print in Excel. That is deliberate — silently rescaling your figures to fit would change what the numbers look like without telling you.

Troubleshooting

The PDF has far more pages than expected
A stray value in a distant cell extends the used range. In Excel press Ctrl+End to see where the sheet actually ends, delete the empty rows and columns beyond your data, save, and convert again.
Colours look different
Theme colours are resolved from the theme stored in the file. A workbook using a custom corporate theme that was never saved into the file will fall back to the default palette.
Text in cells appears cut off
The cell is narrower than its contents and is not set to wrap. Widen the column or turn on wrap text before converting — the PDF shows what the cell shows, not what is hidden behind it.

Privacy and file deletion

  • Which sheets get converted?

    All visible sheets, in order, each starting on a new page. Hidden sheets are skipped, which matches what printing from Excel does. If you only want one sheet, delete the others first or set a print area.

  • Do formulas come through?

    The values do, which is what you want in a PDF. The formulas themselves are calculation instructions and have no meaning on a printed page, so a cell showing 42 comes out as 42. Note that values are taken as last saved by Excel — a spreadsheet saved with stale cached results converts with those results.

  • My columns are cut off on the right

    That is the spreadsheet's own page setup, not the conversion. Excel defaults to portrait A4 and simply pushes anything wider onto later pages. Set the orientation to landscape, or use Page Layout → Scale to Fit → 1 page wide, then convert again.

  • Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

    Yes. Unlike our merge, split and compress tools — which run entirely in your browser — this one runs on our server, because the conversion engine is far too large to download. Your file is stored under a random name, is never looked at, and is deleted within 24 hours.

  • Are charts included?

    Yes. Charts render as vector graphics, so they stay sharp at any zoom rather than turning into a blurry bitmap.

  • What happens to the images I upload in a batch?

    Files up to 50 MB are accepted, and a batch is handled as separate jobs that are zipped together at the end. Every upload is stored under a random name, never served from a public folder, and deleted 24 hours after the job starts — the finished file goes at the same moment. We never share them and there is no account they could be tied to. The one thing we do is compare the original against the result in our own admin area, to be sure the compression has not softened the picture.
