It sets the CRF value passed to the encoder — how many bits are spent per frame. At 23 you would struggle to see any difference from the original. At 32 you will notice softness in fast motion and fine texture. Everything between is a straight trade of size against detail.
Why is compression slower than image conversion?
A one-minute 1080p clip is around 1,800 individual frames, each one of them a full image. Video encoding is genuinely one of the heaviest things a CPU can be asked to do.
Do you keep my files?
No. Uploads are deleted within 2 hours and finished downloads within 24 hours, whichever comes first. We never watch, inspect or share them.
