How to crop an image

Your files stay private
Uploads are stored under a random name with no connection to the file you sent, and they are never served from a public directory. Input files are deleted within two hours and finished downloads within 24 hours. Nobody looks at them, and nothing is shared with anyone.

- Does cropping reduce the file size?
- Usually yes, roughly in proportion to how much area you removed. Cropping away half the picture typically halves the file size, though the exact result depends on how detailed the part you kept is.
- Does cropping re-compress the image?
- For JPG, yes — the image has to be decoded and re-encoded, which costs a small amount of quality. For PNG and lossless WebP nothing is lost. If you are cropping a JPG repeatedly, work from the original each time rather than from your last crop.
- Why can I only crop one file at a time?
- Because a crop region is specific to one image. The same coordinates applied to a batch of differently sized photos would produce nonsense. Use the resize tool if you need a batch operation.
- Do you keep my files?
- No. Files are stored on our server only while the job runs. Uploads are deleted within 2 hours and finished downloads within 24 hours, whichever comes first. We never open, inspect or share them.
