Since iOS 11 iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. It is an excellent format and almost nothing outside the Apple ecosystem reads it. This converts your photos to JPG so they work everywhere.

How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Upload your HEIC photos. Drag several in at once — a whole camera roll batch is fine.
  2. Decide about metadata. Leave EXIF stripped unless you specifically need the location and camera data.
  3. Download. Save the JPGs individually or take the whole batch as a ZIP.

Your files stay private

Uploads are stored under a random name with no connection to the file you sent, and they are never served from a public directory. Input files are deleted within two hours and finished downloads within 24 hours. Nobody looks at them, and nothing is shared with anyone.

Questions

Why does Windows not open my iPhone photos?
HEIC needs a codec that Windows does not ship with, and Microsoft charges for the extension in the Store. Converting to JPG sidesteps the problem entirely and costs you nothing.
Is the EXIF data kept?
Only if you ask for it. We strip EXIF by default because iPhone photos carry GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken, which is not something you want to hand out when you post an image online. Tick "Keep EXIF metadata" if you need the date, camera settings or location retained.
Can I stop my iPhone making HEIC files?
Yes — Settings, then Camera, then Formats, then choose "Most Compatible". Your phone will shoot JPG from then on, at the cost of roughly double the storage per photo.
Do you keep my files?
No. Files are stored on our server only while the conversion runs. Uploads are deleted within 2 hours and finished downloads within 24 hours, whichever comes first. We never open, inspect or share them.
