Filmed something in portrait and it plays on its side? This rotates the actual picture, so the fix travels with the file instead of depending on the player.

Frequently asked questions
Browse video toolsWhy does my phone video play sideways on a computer?
Phones usually record in one orientation and write a rotation flag into the file rather than rotating the pixels. Phone galleries read that flag; a lot of desktop players and upload forms ignore it. Rotating the picture itself removes the ambiguity.
Does rotating reduce quality?
The video has to be re-encoded, so there is a small loss — the same amount you would get from any single re-encode at CRF 23. It is not visible at normal viewing size.
What is the difference between rotate and flip?
Rotating turns the picture by a quarter or half turn. Flipping mirrors it, which swaps left and right — useful for footage from a front-facing camera where text appears backwards.
Do you keep my files?
No. Uploads are deleted within 2 hours and finished downloads within 24 hours, whichever comes first. We never watch, inspect or share them.
Supported formats and limits
Accepts video/mp4, video/quicktime, video/webm. Produces video/mp4. Files up to 200 MB, up to 10 minutes long.
Your files stay private
Uploads are stored under a random name with no connection to the file you sent, and they are never served from a public directory. Input files are deleted within two hours and finished downloads within 24 hours. Nobody looks at them, and nothing is shared with anyone.
