Frequently asked questions

Browse video tools
  • Why is this limited to 15 seconds when other tools allow 10 minutes?

Because reversing is the one operation that cannot be streamed. To write the first frame of the output, the encoder needs the last frame of the input, so every frame has to be held in memory at once. Fifteen seconds of 720p is already over a gigabyte. It is a real limit of the technique, not a paywall.

  • What happens to the sound?

By default it is reversed along with the picture, which is what most people expect. Turn the option off if you would rather keep speech or music playing forwards.

  • How do I reverse something longer?

Trim it down to the section you actually want first, then reverse that. In practice a reversed clip is almost always a short one anyway — the effect wears off quickly.

  • Do you keep my files?

No. Uploads are deleted within 2 hours and finished downloads within 24 hours, whichever comes first. We never watch, inspect or share them.
